KubeCon and CloudNativeCon Europe 2023 will take place in just a few weeks! If you have little or no experience at all with Kubernetes but are interested in cloud computing, you can’t miss this opportunity! Keep reading to know why you will love it, the talks and events you need to attend, who will also be there, and where you can buy your tickets as soon as you finish this article.
Why KubeCon 2023 is for you
This year’s KubeCon Europe will be held in Amsterdam from April 18th to 21th and promises to be an exciting event for anyone interested in Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
For developers who may not be used to Kubernetes, KubeCon is an excellent opportunity to learn more about this powerful technology and its ecosystem. Kubernetes is an open-source container orchestration system that was originally developed by Google and is now maintained by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). It provides a powerful platform for managing and scaling containerized applications and has become an essential tool for developers and DevOps teams working with cloud-native technologies.
At KubeCon, you can expect to learn about the latest developments in Kubernetes and cloud-native computing, as well as gain hands-on experience with the technology through workshops, training sessions, and demos. The conference will feature keynotes, technical sessions, lightning talks, and other events, providing a wealth of information and networking opportunities for developers and other attendees.
Why you will love KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2023
KubeCon is one of the largest Kubernetes conferences in the world, bringing together developers, users, and other stakeholders to discuss the latest trends and developments in Kubernetes and cloud-native computing.
For developers who are new to Kubernetes, KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Amsterdam will offer a range of resources to help you get started. There will be a variety of beginner-level sessions and workshops, as well as opportunities to network with other developers and experts in the field. The first one will be on Monday, April 17th at the SKYY Bar, located on the rooftop of the Westcord Fashion Hotel in Amsterdam. This Happy Hour is a co-located event, so if you have the In-Person All-Acces pass, be sure to request your spot. Another chance for everyone to connect, collaborate, and have fun will be the KubeCrawl + CloudNativeFest on the first official night of KubeCon 2023. It combines the former Welcome Reception + Booth Crawl and All-Attendee Party into one big celebration for mingling with sponsors while also experiencing the flavor of the city.
The Kubernetes community is known for its inclusivity and welcoming atmosphere. To encourage and increase the participation of a diverse community, KubeCon 2023 offers diversity, need-based, maintainer, and student scholarships, as well as diversity-focused activities like the EmpowerUs Breakfast, the Diversity + Equity + Inclusion Lunch, and a talk on “How Implicit Bias Affects Diversity and Inclusion in Open Source”, by Anita Ihuman. It might be the most accessible and inclusive event ever, as you will be able to find captioning in 15+ languages, a baby care lounge + nursing room, child care (that you need to RSVP), a prayer room to pray (regardless of your faith) or meditate, quiet rooms where you can go if you feel unable to interact with other attendees for a period time, Communication Stickers to show your preferred level of interaction with both other attendees and press, pronoun stickers, all-gender restrooms, and indications on how to report harassment, in addition to prior and on-site information about the venue accessibility — Check out this page to find out more.
KubeCon + CloudNativeCon conference always shows an effort for you to feel comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance as you explore this exciting technology. An excellent moment to do so will be at the Peer Group Mentoring event. Participants, whether they are new or not so new, will have the chance to meet with experienced open-source veterans while grouped with other people in a pod-like setting. If you like the idea of mentoring, you must also check out the talk by Brad McCoy and Meha Bhalodiya, “Our Journey Through Cloud-Native as Mentee and Mentor”, where they will share a lot of tips you will surely find useful.
